USS Mahan Using UAV Technology

This is so neat! I just read that the USS Mahan (DDG 72) has an UAV system (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) fully integrated into it's combat systems.

The UAV conducts daily surveillance which the ships intelligence specialists monitor looking for pirate related activities.

I also learned that the UAV can fly in the day or at night, and in a covert or overt posture.

That is very cool technology! It sounds like an extremely high tech version of the remote control helicopter toy called Air Hogs.
