Big Doggie Mess!
My brother Rob paid "B" to dog sit Kayley. "B" took a nap with kayley and found this when he woke up.
Kayley chewed the video game controller, ate most of the disc for the wireless internet (and chewed up the rest), ate and chewed a lot of mail and other plastic and paper things she managed to find around the room.
"B" did not wake up. I was in the other room and did not hear a thing.
We felt bad that Kayley chewed up so much of my brother and sister in laws stuff.
BTW, they live with us now. They rent the suite my dad used to live in.

Making Mozarella Goat Cheese
Chantel shared these cheese making photos with me. They are real neat.

Heating fresh, strained milk
Draining mozzarella
The next step is to string and stretch the cheese like taffy then allow it to chill.

Update on Robin Rescue
Sadly three robins did not make it. They were fine in the evening, but in the morning only one was alive. He had fallen out of his nest and into a patch of sun, which saved him. My daughter brought him in and began warming him. We picked him up and took him to the "bird lady". He had plenty of energy when we dropped him off. The "bird lady" expects him to survive and be released when he is older.
Robin before going to the "bird lady".
In the wild this little killdeer lives in a pile of grass on the ground but decided to take over the robins nest instead. Cute!
Fluffy killdeer.
Incubator life!
Pet Starling laughs and plays with the boys
The "bird lady" goes to schools to tell kids about wild bird rescue. She let the boyz hold and touch the birds and told them lots of neat info about wild birds.
While we were there "Z" volunteered to come and help out. "Bird lady" said that we could help by fostering recovered birds until she finds permanent homes for them. We decided to foster doves and/or pigeons.

Oops! Wrong Car!
Shayna and I hung out today. The parking lot was full at the restaurant so we parked in the far back side and enjoyed a long leisurely lunch.
When we came back out Shayna was ahead of me, jumped right in the car and closed the door. I said aloud “I don’t remember parking this close”, but Shayna already had the door closed and didn’t hear me so I dismissed that thought thinking I must have remembered wrong since I often forget where I’ve parked.
I wanted to put my leftovers in the back seat, but there were clothes taking up that space. I thought to myself “I don’t remember those being there. Oh well, I guess I will have to put the bag on the front seat.” Again dismissing that thought because the children often leave all kinds of junk in the back seat.
I got in the car, set the food between Shayna and me, shut the door and started looking for my keys.
Immediately Shayna pointed out the photos on the dashboard stating “I don’t remember these.” And asking, “Mom, why do you have these pics here?” and as she asked “who are they?”
I gasped! And said “Oh my gosh!” and we both looked at each other, gasped, screamed, laughed and leaped out of the car, quickly shutting the door and walking away as fast as our feet would take us, while laughing hysterically!
We had been in the wrong car! We not only got in, but shut the door and started searching for keys.
I do not know if the owner of the car saw us. We hope not! Ha ha!
I should mention that the car is the same model and color, inside and out as my car…which is quite unusual! I’ve never seen another like it before today. That makes me feel a little better about accidentally getting in a strangers car.
I’m still laughing!

RIP Tyler, We love you Ash!
God sings:
When the rain comes it seems that everyone has gone away.
When the night falls you wonder if you shouldn't find someplace to run and hide, escape the pain, but, hiding's such a lonely thing to do.
I can't stop the rain from falling down on you again.
I can't stop the rain, but I will hold you 'til it goes away.
When the rain comes you blame it on the things that you have done.
When the storm fades you know that rain must fall on everyone.
Rest awhile. It'll be alright. No one loves you like I do.
When the rain comes, I will hold you.

Singing Puppy Video
Dad was showing friends the photo from his birthday party with Zoey (the dog) singing "Happy Birthday".
He didn't realize I had a video too.
Enjoy!

Brownie Mix Surprise
Do you remember the brownies we made a while back? The ones with that weird baking soda reaction that caused the cocoa mixture to mysteriously thicken?
If you don't...or if you want to read it to learn why cocoa, oil and baking soda becomes thick when boiling water is added you may click here.
"B" made them again the other day and I managed to remember to take a few photos.
cocoa, baking soda and oil
cocoa mixture with boiling water just added.
Not much happening yet.
It's happening! The mixture is starting to thicken
The thickening process is complete!
He continued following the recipe until we had super yummy brownies.
Sorry, I forgot to take "after" photos. "B" is an excellent chef so you will just have to imagine how wonderful they were.

Robins Nest and the Fallen Birds
Last week the boyz and I went to Shaynas apartment. We discovered this birds nest in a tree right outside her door.
Yesterday we returned to find the nest overturned, empty, and the birds cold and nearly dead on the ground.
We gathered them up, took them indoors and attempted to warm them with our hands.
I have an excellent veterinarian. I called her office requesting information. She gave me a number of a woman who does wild bird rescue.
I called the bird lady. She told me to warm them until they were at least as warm as our hands. We should make a birdie heating pad by placing a damp paper towel in a zipper plastic bag, warm it in the microwave, wrap in a dry paper towel (to buffer the heat) and place this under the birds while we continue to hold them.
She recommended that when the birds were thoroughly warm we reheat the birdie heating pad and place it in the bottom of the next, cover it with shredded paper towel and put the birds back in the nest. Then we were to observe the nest for an hour or so to see if the mother came back to care for her babies
We followed her instructions by creating a heating pad and the birds started moving around a little bit after about 10 minutes of warming.
We had plans for dinner so when the birds were thoroughly warmed I set the nest upright and arranged the branches to support it. Then we placed the birds in the nest and headed off to dinner instead of watching for the mother.
When we finished dinner we came right back to check on the birds. They were warmer than when we left them!
We needed to get groceries so we headed off to the store.
When we came back the birds were still in the nest and warm. We waited for about 35 minutes until mother robin came to feed her babies. When she left the nest we checked the ground to be sure none of the babies had fallen back out.
They were fine.
Later that evening my daughter reported that they were still warm and in their nest.

Photo of Ronald Floating in the Dead Sea
Ronald had the opportunity to take a tour of Masada and the Dead Sea. He said it was chilly that day. But how often do you get an opportunity to take a dip in the Dead Sea? So in he went.
He said the entire tour was amazing.
In the water he was so buoyant that he did not need to use any part of his body to assist him in staying afloat. He also said that when attempting to go under water in a standing upright position he popped right out of the water like a cork.
**I want to send another great big thanks out to ET1 Lewis. Thanks again for sending this amazing photo, and others!
