USS Mahan in New York

Ronald was in New York this weekend! I wonder if he is in this photo.
My internet friend, Robert Ratliff, posted this on my faceobook wall last night. His son was on the USS Mahan also. Thanks Robert!

Robert Ratliff says, “you gotta love this photo of the sailors aboard the USS Mahan being welcomed to New York on July 19 by a fireboat spraying water colored Red, White and Blue.”

Ron and Jessica at the Beach

Jessica said that the flash was too bright. I'm glad she posted it anyhow.

Notice that Ron is wearing Jessica's pins that say "super rad". I love it!

Thanks, Jessica, for the pics!

Batter Blaster with Ron and Jessice

While on a late evening trip to Meijer, the boyz and I noticed Batter Blaster in the dairy-ish section. A while back Ronald sent me an email making fun of the fact that Batter Blaster promotes itself as being organic while packaged in an aerosol can. Of course, seeing this can triggered that memory and I immediatly took this pic...

...and sent it to Ron via text message. He texted back that he and Jessica were inspired to get their own can of Batter Blaster and would let us know how it went.
A little while later I received this pic text...

... titled "Victory!" (I loved that title!...and the pic!) with the promise that they would let us know how yummy they were when they made them.

The next morning we received several pics of super yummy looking pancakes and a report that they were OK. They were not Ron's favorite pancakes, but definitely good and especially easy and fun.

The can looks like Reddy-Whip, but tastes nothing like it. Jessica is sweet to remind us to NOT taste it before cooking.

Micky Mouse pancakes! Yayee!!!

Thanks Ron and Jessica for sharing these pics with us.
We will make some Batter Blaster pancakes when the boyz get back from their vacation with their dad.

Ronald and Jessica's Road Trip

Ronald and Jessica recently took a road trip to the North Carolina border. Jessica posted these photos on her facebook pages. I adopted them as my own, with permission, of course. Enjoy!

Jessica and Ronald.

Pretty!

Ronnie

I love this. It's that classic "Ronald" look.

Smooch!

Awww

Double-Awww!

Triple-Awww!
Wait!
Didn't we already see this one?
Yep! I accidentally uploaded it twice. It's my favorite, so I'm leaving it. :D

Up North Adventures: Easter Photos

This goat jumped right into his hay bin when we fed them Easter morning. Haha!

I hid eggs both inside and out the house and the boyz found them. This year I did not create a scavenger hunt but I also did not make it easy on them.
I took photos for visual clues when they were stumped. I must confess that my original intent for taking the photos was to find them if they didn't. No one likes rotten eggs laying around...and as an added bonus I can use them here!
We also made Resurrection Eggs, but I forgot to take pics.

Mending pile egg

Flower pot egg

Birch bark egg

Tree stump egg

Fence post egg. Look hard. It is blue.

Saddle egg

I thought this would be one of the easier eggs to find since it was right out there in the open. I was wrong. It was one of the most difficult, and enjoyable for me. The boys walked around this boat many times, they appeared to look directly at the egg and even got in the boat several times. The hot/cold game eventually helped them find it.

Boyz looking for the egg on the boat and saddle.

Clothesline egg

Oh yeah!

Ummm, that's going to be hard to reach

Victory!

These two pics were not planned...

Are they brothers? Or what?

An axe in one hand and and an Easter basket in the other...that's up north living. Haha.
